Went for a Chinese at The Empress in Sandhurst. Really can’t beat that place for value and banter- there was 18 of us- it was pretty dogger- and good to speak to Dave Shearman for the first time in what seems like months. Trying to remember exactly what it was I ate. I think it was as follows:
Starters
Prawn Toasts
Chicken Satays
Spring Rolls
Seaweed
Prawn Dumplings
Sugarry Chicken things
Ribs
Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings
Intermediate
Duck and Plum Sauce Wraps
Main
Egg Fried Rice
Thai Spicy Chicken Slices
Shredded Duck with Szechuan Cabbage
Pork with Szechuan Cabbage
Coffee
So quite a lot really, all for £15, plus drinks. I didn’t drink however, as I was driving. I think yesterday is the first day I have gone out and not drunk for about a year. Even when I’ve driven down the Welly in the week, I’ve always had a token pint of Fosters for my efforts. It’s slightly worrying really. But also, quite good.
I have made an appointment with Richard Worth estate agents for a valuation on Friday afternoon, to see how much I can rent my flat out for. Looking forward to it, but obviously worried about getting my flat in a good shape for then. Planning on a trip to Homebase this lunchtime for some essentials. Spoke to Gareth on the way home from the Chinese last night, who said it would be a good idea to speak to the council and see if they are looking for flats to rent at the moment, which seemed a sensible suggestion. Going to research it and then, depending on how Friday’s viewing goes, give good old Wokingham Council a call.
keeping up with what i'm up to, but sporadically and with less grammar than before
