Florence and Calamity and Joan of Arc

OK, so I’m not going to hit 50,000 words by Friday night. It’s not going to happen. I’ll be honest, I’ve written about 12,000 words. I haven’t written everyday, I’ve had about 6 sessions all month. I have, if you like, failed in every way in my attempt to hit my target.

But you know what? I don’t care. I’ve made a start on a novel; I have all the time in the world now to craft it , to hone it and to finish it. I and bloody will do because it’s really good. I reckon.

In other news, I’m off to Leeds next week to watch Utd play Port Vale. Very much excited, although the form they’re in at the moment I'm a little worried that the first game I’ll have been to at Elland Road since my exodus from Yorkshire could end up in a reverse, but let’s hope not. Dave’s coming too, which is ace, but I wonder how he’s going to cope with all the chavvy yobs who will inevitably be around us. Will be interesting.

This blog will be back on track now, by the way, I’m making time for it.

12,000 words is a grand effort, as long as they are not all the same word, that'd be cheating. Hope you have fun at the match, personally I doubt you will, but ever the optimist.

You didn't mention chavvy yobs in the memo.

Bastard.

There was fighting and knives and guns and everything, and that was just the players!

Was a good night. Saw some good goals at our end too...
