Had my hair cut in my lunch break yesterday and I now look like a Beatle, which is kinda what I wanted I suppose. I quite like it. I will put a pic up here tonight when I get home.
To Geoff’s last night for the first ever Johnny Arrow and The Cheap Day Returns rehearsal. I was anxious as to how it would go, as a few of the songs I’ve never been 100% confident with, but it went, I feel, spectacularly well for a first get together. Had some great comments from Geoff with regards to the songs, and they pretty much just flew out of us. Played through 8 of them twice, with very little tweaking. Once I’ve introduced another 4 or 5 songs then I reckon we should be good to go. Below the songs we did;
Melancholy Sunday
One Up On Me
You Break My Heart Everyday
Feeling Sore
I Believe in You
I Wouldn’t Move to London for You
Just The Way It Is
Lights Change to Red
I was particularly pleased with Feeling Sore and I Believe In You, as I wasn’t confident of their quality, but they were two of the best ones we did. I really think this could be the start of something pretty good.
Woke up this morning to snow. Everything looks so good in the snow, the whole drive to work was beautiful, through Crowthorne, and even up the bypass to Bracknell, which has never looked as pretty. It’s never looked pretty, to be fair. I was worried a little about driving in, as the council don’t seem to have done any gritting at all. I find it mental that whenever it has snowed down here the whole county seems to come to a standstill (there are only 4 out of 10 people in my office today). It used to snow up in Yorkshire quite a bit and it never made such an impact on everything. Anyway, I got al the way to work this morning fine, then when I attempted to turn into the car park nothing happened. Braking didn’t help either and so I ended up in a bush. Which was fun.
keeping up with what i'm up to, but sporadically and with less grammar than before
